1979 born in Yerevan, lives in Berlin.
Interested in drawing and painting since an early age, Armen Vanetsyan studied Graphic Arts and Illustration at Yerevan State University of Art. In 2001 he was given the chance to study in Berlin for a year through the group “Freunde der Kunst.” There he got first hand exposure to Western art and design. Though he returned to Yerevan to finish his degree, he realized that studying further in Germany would allow him to experiment in new directions. This fall he begins a BA in Visual Communication at the Fachhochschule Berlin, eager to incorporate the rich Armenian artistic tradition into a western approach to design and the graphic arts while continuing his private art career.
